LGI understands that evidence is the most integral part to discovering the root cause of a failure. The chain of custody of evidence is paramount.
LGI retains the services of third party firms that specialize in the collection and storage of evidence, no matter how big or how small. These companies will travel to the location of the evidence, sign off on the proper paperwork, package and wrap the item(s), and transport it to their secure facility. The companies have extremely efficient barcode identification systems so items are easily logged in and easily retrieved.
If the evidence is part of an exam that will be conducted at the LGI Lab, the evidence collection firm will be contacted to deliver the evidence prior to the exam date. The evidence will be delivered and secured in the LGI evidence storage room. This room is double-locked and is under video surveillance 24/7.
