Lance Wilson, PhD, Director – Forensic Science and Technology, Dr. Robert Crawford, PhD and P.E., Mechanical Engineer, and Yoandi Interian, ME and P.E., Civil/Structural Engineer, recently attended the National Association of Fire Investigators’ (NAFI) training session and earned the Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI) Certification.
NAFI’s Certified Fire & Explosion Investigator (CFEI) program is an international registry that recognizes qualified fire and explosion investigators. It provides the dual benefit of establishing a standard for evaluating the qualifications of those conducting fire, arson and explosion investigations, as well as creating a benchmark for investigators who
wish to establish their professional credentials. It is the only Fire Investigator Certification based solely on the scientific principles of NFPA 921.
NAFI is dedicated to the education of fire investigation professionals worldwide. A leader in the development of NFPA 921, NAFI has led the charge to bring fire investigation into the 21st century.
